In 1867, Ohio legislature passed the Metropolitan Police Law which required a full time paid police force for the City of Toledo. At 8 AM on April 27, 1867, the "MP's" as they were respectfully called by the public, took charge of policing the City of Toledo.
The Workhouse Photos and Video
During the months of March through May in 2014, representatives from the Toledo Police Museum visited the Workhouse with the task of documenting the site prior to its demolition. Some artifacts were photographed and others were salvaged. This video was produced from one of those visits on May 18, 2014.
